Don't miss John Sramek on HGTV's New Spaces

Airs: Saturday, April 10th, 2010

John Sramek Remodeling was selected from 300 Oregon applicants to appear on the new HGTV show New Spaces. The episode features an addition we built onto a home in Sherwood.

The project was a two-story home with a single-story attached garage. The homeowners had turned an 8 × 10 den that butted up against the garage into a bedroom for their daughter—who was rapidly outgrowing the small space. We removed the garage roof and added two second-story bedrooms and a storage room, while extending out the original room to make an open study. With a new 12 × 11 bedroom, the homeowners’ daughter now has space to spare!

While being on the show was a ton of fun, part of the process was a little unnerving for easy-going John. Producers were always looking for something to go wrong—and our business is avoiding that. In the end, however, we finished the project on budget and ahead of schedule. (Hope we didn’t ruin anything for you!) It’s an ideal example of how a contractor and homeowner can successfully work together.

The episode is scheduled to air April 10th, 2010. Until then, check out our photos.
